Robert H. Reakirt Foundation Supports CSC with $50,000!

The PNC Bank Charitable Trust Committee recently awarded $50,000 to Cancer Support Community – Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky (CSC) from the Robert H. Reakirt Foundation, PNC Bank, Trustee. The funds are designated for a series of programs, Living with Cancer, Creating Hope, which will help participants by connecting them to a network of support and resources, educating them about their cancer, and enhancing their overall mental and emotional wellness.

The goal of CSC’s programming is to connect, support and empower those impacted by any cancer – resulting in an enhanced quality of life, better communication with medical teams, increased treatment adherence, improved recovery and strengthened survivor care. Our participants consistently tell us that they find their experience at CSC to be uplifting and affirming, as stated in these words, “It is so helpful to hear others stories and realize you are not alone in this journey. I made wonderful, lifelong friends from my support group. Being in a safe place to share your deepest fears and emotions creates a bond like nothing else.”

Janet A. Santoro Foundation Supports CSC Breast Cancer Support with $10,000!

The Janet A. Santoro Foundation has donated $10,000 to Cancer Support Community to help fund breast cancer support groups and programs. The funds were raised from a golf outing on Oct. 7 at Bel-Wood Country Club. Since its inception, the Foundation has donated $82,500 to CSC to continue our mission of helping people take on cancer together.

Janet Santoro was a friend and former participant of CSC who created her foundation to financially support organizations that provide support for not only the cancer patients themselves, but also to their families and caregivers. During her cancer experience, Janet’s passion ignited to support cancer patients who needed special help with their daily financial and/or emotional needs. She interacted personally with each individual and helped them through difficult periods during and after their treatment. Now led by Lou Santoro and his family, the Janet A. Santoro Foundation raises funds to support and promote breast cancer awareness, research, and patient/caregiver support services.
